As many as 20 million of the world's 140 million orphans reside in India.
Seven dancers from seven different countries thus came together to raise awareness about orphans - especially the girls - at New Delhi's Lotus Temple.
The performance featured 5 different classical style forms - Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi and Yakshagana. These seven artists belonged to seven countries - the UK, Brazil, India, Belarus, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
As a part of their world tour, the dance titled 'Yaa Devi' in India brought forth the beauty, compassion and power of the most celebrated female icons. The dance was performed in the presence of children from a girl orphanage in Delhi, while emphasising on the need to educate and empower the young minds.
