Sensex surges over 350 points on auto, gas and bank stocks

Sensex surged nearly 400 points today with capital goods, auto, power, metal, banks, gas and telecom stocks leading the way on Thursday.

BSE Sensex ended 1.08 per cent higher at 32,949.21 ensuring biggest single-day rise since November 1.

The Nifty closed up 1.22 per cent at 10,166.70, the biggest single-day gain since May 25.

The NSE Nifty reclaimed the 10,000 level rising to 10,150 during the day.

Bharti Airtel rose over 5 per cent and Idea Cellular rose 4.5 per cent in intra-day trade.

State-run GAIL rose over 7 per cent with Mahanagar Gas, Indraprastha Gas and Petronet LNG leading the rally today.
