In morning trade today, Reliance Industries stocks zoomed to hit a fresh 52-week high of Rs 1,091 apiece. The Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries reclaimed $100 billion m-cap helping to drive the Sensex.
Following the surge, the benchmark Sensex had soared 400 points on Thursday afternoon to claim a record high of 36,696.64 points, up 1.19 per cent.
The 50-share NSE Nifty also rose 77.35 points to 11,025.65 in early trade as the markets celebrated a bull run.
The benchmark Sensex jumped over 250 points to hit a record high of 36,525.66 points in early trade today, ahead of the release of key macroeconomic data amid fresh foreign capital inflows.
The rupee too went up 19 paise to 68.58 against the dollar in early trade ahead of the release of key index of industrial production (IIP) and inflation data amid foreign capital inflows.
At the top of the afternoon on Thursday, the 30-share index rallied 413.89 points to reach 36,679.82, surpassing its previous high of 36,444 recorded on January 29, 2018.
The broader Nifty-50 index also traded above the 11,000-level at 11,071.50 going up 123.20 points.
